AR leads the spatial computing boom, and the emergence of new carriers is expected to unlock new opportunities for intelligent marketing

With the full explosion of generative AI technology, "AI+", that is, the model of combining artificial intelligence with all walks of life, is in full swing. Among the "AI + hardware" products, the combination of AI and AR glasses is regarded as an important trend in the development of wearable devices in the future.


In fact, the AR industry has been extremely active since the beginning of this year. According to IT orange data, as of September 10, there have been 21 investment and financing events in the domestic AR/VR industry this year, with a total amount estimated at 2.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase.


From abroad to China, major AR manufacturers have also intensively released or announced that they are developing new AR products. In China, Rokdi and XREAL released two new products, Rokid AR Lite and Deam Pro, in April and May, respectively.


Abroad, Snap released its fifth-generation Spectacles AR smart glasses. Spectacles are the culmination of Snap's decade-long R&D attempt to integrate AR technology into hardware.

It is also worth noting that at the MetaConnect conference on September 25, 2024, Meta officially launched its first AR glasses prototype, Orion, which costs up to $10,000. As the first generation of Meta's AR glasses, Orion has gained widespread attention for its innovative interaction, lightweight, and AI functions, and it is regarded as a major milestone in promoting AR technology forward, inspiring the entire industry to imagine the potential of Micro LED display technology.

In addition, it has been revealed that Apple is intensively preparing its AR glasses products, aiming to achieve mass production in 2026.

In fact, giants including Microsoft and Google have reported that they are stepping up the development of new AR devices.

The integration of AI and AR is not only a superposition of technology, but also an upgrade and change in the way of interaction and information presentation. Hua Chuang Securities released a research report saying that compared with VR and MR, AR glasses are more interactive with reality and lighter in weight, and are more suitable for daily and long-term wear. At present, the development of the AR market mainly depends on the further penetration of the C-end, the coordinated development of the content side and the hardware side, and the gradual decline in the terminal price, AR is expected to be implemented on a large scale in the consumer market.
